My Wish For 2017

The other day, a friend asked me: What is your dream?

I said I dream of earning just enough to travel, to maintain a living where I can provide for my parents, to be able to have the time to read and write, to live without succumbing to the pressures of time. “Those are just the consequences or the results of a dream,” my friend replied. “What is YOUR dream?”

I didn’t have an answer. I don’t know what is my dream. So, when I read this prompt, I realize I don’t know what my wish for 2017 is either. But then, I saw it. My wish for 2017 is to dream. I wish for bigger dreams – dreams where I am running a successful business. I dream of love and laughter and light. I dream of roads and skies. I wish to dream of friendships, new and old. I wish to dream of health and happiness. I wish to dream of flowers, enveloping every worrisome corner of my mind. I wish to dream. I wish to dream of dreaming a life where I am embracing every single curve and loop, of the flaws and frailties, of a year where I can rediscover myself all over again. Just like 2016 did.
